Mini eggshell focused on the potentials of clay extrusion as an alternative to PLA, as the recycability of clay is easier and requires less infrastructure. The projects explores the possibilities of this material in terms of ornamentation and surface articulation. An array of different designs were tested and fabricated directly. With the help of computational design, various movements in the 3 axis were further explored and translated with the robotic movement, to reveal the uniquness of clay extrusion as a digital fabrication method. More shapes were also printed as shells and cast with concrete, in order to compare their feasability as formwork, compared to plastic extruded material.
