The social bunker is a form of ephemeral architecture which offers a structure adapted to social distancing regulations, that can be assembled quickly during a pandemic. It would be implemented in public squares or wide pedestrian areas of the cities. It creates an elevated social level, where people interact within their own space safely but find themselves also around other groups, thus creating a vivid atmosphere.
It comes as both open and enclosed versions, which oer weather protection but are also more adequate for a business or private meeting. Similar to car sharing apps, the bunker can be booked with a smart-phone. The app also allows for people between bunkers to interact at a digital level, to play games or initiate a first contact.
